Malt is the most important ingredient for brewing Czech beers and specialty beers. It plays a major role in the final taste, colour and aroma. Malt is made from specially cultivated spring barley in malt-houses.
When brewing the wide range of Primator beers, the following malts and grains are used:
CZECH PALE MALT - the basic ingredient in Czech beer
BAVARIAN (MUNICH) MALT- used for fullness and the bread-like taste of beer
CARAMEL MALT - gives caramel flavour and aroma to beer
COLORING MALT - adds dark colour to beer
WHEAT MALT - the basic ingredient in our Weizenbier and other specialties
SMOKED MALT - adds the delicate flavour of smoke
ROASTED BARLEY - adds the taste of bitter coffee
UN-MALTED BARLEY - adds smoothness to beer
Brewing water is one of the basic ingredients in beer production and its composition has a significant influence on the final product.
Beer and soft drinks from Primator brewery are made using high quality water coming from the Adršpašsko – teplické skály National Nature Reserve. This is the highest quality spring water, also suitable for infants.
